Bee Stings Cure Arthritis

James L. Rosenberg

My swollen fingers, gnarled and knotted

Cramped awkward with intolerable ache;

I bought a farm of snarling bees;

They stung me for salvations sake.

Strange ease to purchase through small hurts

release from larger crippling pains!

But I have learned a strange adjustment

and count each firey sting a gain.

And sometimes in the savage orchard

I go to take my hurtful ease

and find a comb of gleaming honey

left by my fierce redemptive bees.
