Nicotine patch, anyone?

Dr. Weeks’ Comment: Nicotine is beneficial – in moderation and used episodically (given it being addictive) but getting it by smoking is not healthy. The work around: A 21mg nicotine patch, applied once a day in the morning may be life changing.

It is low risk and high potential return. Learn about nicotine and let me know what your experience is.

Nicotine and Parkinson’s disease; implications for therapy

 1 1 1

“CONCLUSION: These combined data indicate that nicotine or nicotinic agonists may be useful for Parkinson’s disease therapy from several perspectives, including neuroprotection against nigrostriatal damage, alleviation of symptoms and reduction of drug-induced side effects (L-dopa-induced dyskinesias). The use of such agents, in combination with existing treatments, may represent a new disease modifying approach for Parkinson’s disease.”
