Dr. Weeks’ Comment: I advise all my patients to avoid dairy – for many health reasons. Now increased risk of cancer is one.
“Increased levels of estrogen metabolites are believed to be associated with cancers of the reproductive system. One potential dietary source of these metabolites that is commonly consumed worldwide is milk.”

The April edition of the Journal of Dairy Science (J Dairy Sci. 2012 Apr;95(4):1699-708)
made my day on April 1, 2012.
Dairy scientists measured the levels of steroid estrogens in commercial cow’s milk and goat’s
milk and concluded:
“A lower combined concentration of estrone and estradiol was found in goat milk than in any
of the cow milk products tested…Goat milk represents a better dietary choice for
individuals concerned with limiting their estrogen intake.”
Can you believe they admitted this truth in a pro-dairy journal? Yippee!!!
Wait–it gets even better.
In their abstract, the authors (Farlow DW, Xu X, Veenstra, TD) admit:
“Increased levels of estrogen metabolites are
believed to be associated with cancers of the
reproductive system. One potential dietary source
of these metabolites that is commonly consumed
worldwide is milk.”
