SSRI no better than placebo.. worse actually.

Dr. Weeks’ Comment:   Old news.  Had the ’scientific” journals reported the real and total science in the firest place, had the marketers not gagged the investigators (see the fiasco of how the unpublished data on Paxil bordered on the criminal)  the fad of SSRI medications would never have been tolerated.

Emperor SSRI has no clothes

Dr. Weeks Clinic:   Some straight thinking about the relative worthlessness (compared to placebo or exercise or vitamin B shots or even tryptophan) of SSRI antidepressants. And yet more difficulty getting straight answers about … side-effects.

SSRI drug company fined more than $1 billion.

Dr. Weeks’ Comment:   Let’s review – A medical doctor is a doctor of   “medicine”  (just as a juris doctor is a doctor or teacher or law,  and a doctor of philosophy teaches philosophy).   Medical doctors are not trained in aspects of health, nutrition, lifestyle modification or elegant management of  mental or spiritual aspects of life.  [...]

Paxil and birth defects = $2.5 million fine.

Dr.  Weeks’ Comment: The drug, approved for U.S. use in 1992, generated about $942 million in sales last year, 2.1 percent of Glaxo’s total revenue.

SSRI and male infertility

Paragraph three reads:  “‘It’s fairly well known that SSRI antidepressants negatively impact erectile function and ejaculation. This study goes one step further, demonstrating that they can cause a major increase in genetic damage to sperm,‘  says Dr. Peter Schlegel, the study’s senior author.  ‘Although this study doesn’t look directly at [...]

Did Zoloft make him do it?

Dr. Weeks’ Comment:
Corrective Health involves correcting the problem, not using synthetic chemicals which work by poisoning enzyme pathways (drugs) .   Many drugs have serious life-threatening side-effects.  There is benefit too, often life saving – but side-effects can be a deal breaker.
At first we had the Prozac defense (murdering someone with impunity while in a semi-sleep [...]

Experts have argued apathy can occur alone, or in conjunction with such other conditions as Huntington’s disease, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and stroke. It is also a side-effect of antidepressants, sedatives and other psychotropic drugs.”
