Dairy is big business (except for the farmers)

If Only Dairy Farmers Knew—

“The demagogue is one who preaches doctrines he
knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.”
– H. L. Mencken

Many dairy farmers are spiritually and financially bankrupt.
Their industry and profit picture have never had a lower
outlook.

To heap insult upon their injuries, dairy farmers must pay
fifteen cents for every hundred pounds of milk they produce
in order to promote milk consumption.

The largest milk industry group in America is Dairy Marketing
Inc. or DMI.

If only dairymen were aware of what I am about to reveal, they
would arm themselves with torches and pitchforks and storm the
Dairy Kings and Dairy Queens who currently occupy dairy’s pizza
pie-in-the-sky castle.

Actually, ten minutes after you read this, most of them will
know thanks to the hyper speed of the Internet.

In 2009 (latest figures available), the seven demagogues
of dairyland’s DMI were compensated:

Julian Toney – $923,051
Thomas Gallagher – $702,655
Thomas Suber – $660,170
Jean Ragalie – $500,318
Gregory Miller – $452,964
Daniel Chavka – $419,604
Mark Leitner – $419,332

National Milk Producers Federation’s CEO, Jerry Kozak
was paid $722,593.

Salaries of other notables (just for comparison):

President Barack Obama = $400,000
Vice President Joe Biden = $230,700
Chief Justice John Roberts = $223,500
8 Associate Chief Justices = $213,900
Secretary of State Hilary Clinton = $199,700
14 other Cabinet Secretaries = $199,700
