Early detection of Pancreatic Cancer

Dr. Weeks’ Comment:   Too young to compromise and too naive to understand limitations.  Bravo to young Jack Andraka  (age 15) and his sensor for the detection of pancreatic cancer (commercial production is still 2 years from delivery).   His sensor for mesothelin ( a protein present in people with pancreatic cancer) is:

168 x more rapid

>400X more sensitive

>26,000 less expensive  (3 cents)

…….than current tests for pancreatic cancer.

 No more “guess and check”.
