Dr. Weeks’ Comment: Are you aware that there is a disease now called post-vaccine syndrome (PVS). In 2025, in a YALE study, described below, we learn: “Typically spike protein can be detected for a few days after vaccination, but some participants with post-vaccination syndrome had detectable levels more than 700 days after their last vaccination.” Contrary to what we were all told, the spike protein does NOT remain localized at the shot site, but rather, the spike protein was detected in general circulation almost 2 years after the shot. Akiko Iwasaki, who led the study, called it “surprising”. Some of us, who might consider this criminal, were not surprised.
INTRODUCTION
The rapid development and deployment of COVID-19 vaccines have been pivotal in mitigating the impact of the pandemic. These vaccines have significantly reduced severe illness and mortality associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection. Additionally, vaccinated individuals experience a lower incidence of post-acute sequelae of COVID63 19 (PASC) or long COVID, thus highlighting an additional potential benefit of receiving the COVID-19 vaccines. However, COVID-19 vaccines are associated with rare acute adverse events such as myocarditis and pericarditis , thrombosis and thrombocytopenia , Guillain–Barre syndrome, transverse myelitis, and Bell’s Palsy. In addition, some individuals have reported post-vaccination symptoms resembling long COVID beginning shortly after vaccination. This condition, sometimes referred to as post-vaccination syndrome (PVS) or post-acute COVID-19 vaccination syndrome (PACVS), is characterized by symptoms such as exercise intolerance, excessive fatigue, numbness, brain fog, neuropathy, insomnia, palpitations, myalgia, tinnitus or humming in ears, headache, burning sensations, and dizziness. Unlike long COVID, PVS is not officially recognized by health authorities, which has significantly limited patient care and support.
Article Summary
“COVID-19 vaccines have prevented millions of COVID-19 deaths. Yet, a small fraction of the population reports a chronic debilitating condition after COVID-19 vaccination, often referred to as post- vaccination syndrome (PVS). To explore potential pathobiological features associated with PVS, we conducted a decentralized, cross-sectional study involving 42 PVS participants and 22 healthy controls enrolled in the Yale LISTEN study. Compared with controls, PVS participants exhibited differences in immune profiles, including reduced circulating memory and effector CD4 T cells (type 1 and type 2) and an increase in TNFα+ CD8 T cells. PVS participants also had lower anti-spike antibody titers, primarily due to fewer vaccine doses. Serological evidence of recent Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) reactivation was observed more frequently in PVS participants. Further, individuals with PVS exhibited elevated levels of circulating spike protein compared to healthy controls. These findings reveal potential immune differences in individuals with PVS that merit further investigation to better understand this condition and inform future research into diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.”
