I support Health Freedom in Washington state. The choice of how to care for my body is a right of choice that belongs to me. Please uphold that choice for me! I vote my convictions and I support candidates who uphold my rights.

Please report back to me your position on my freedom to choose any type of health care I need, whether “mainstream” or “non-traditional.” I am very disappointed in the superficial conclusions of Mr. Sontag’s performance audit regarding the Washington Department of Health. I am upset that he did not address the political agenda of insurance companies, pharmaceutical companines colluding with the Department of Health in general and the Medical Quality Assurance Commission in particular to restrict the rights of patient and physicians to choose various treatment options which may be non-traditional and therefore different from the standard of care. Currently these choices are defined as causing “unreasonable risk of harm” when in fact they are safer and less expensive. Please allow the market forces to work unheeded so that I can pay out of pocket if need be, not requiring insurance reimbursement, in order to purchase non-traditional medical care. This current law is being evicerated and its spirit needs to be upheld.

“The use of a nontraditional treatment by itself shall not constitute unprofessional conduct, provided that it does not result in injury to a patient or create an unreasonable risk that a patient may be harmed.” WA RCW 18.130.010 Sec 34, line 4-7

Please protect my doctors (who are intelligent and courageous enough to offer non-traditional or non-standard care) from harassment and persecution by state agencies (the Department of Health and the Medical Quality Assurances Commission) who conspire with for-profit entities (insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies) to restrict freedom of choice in health care.
